The Florida Panthers selected Russian defenseman Vladislav Lukashevich in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n
During his draft season, Lukashevich appeared in 36 games for Loko Yaroslavl, a junior team in Russia\u2019s MHL. He produced three goals and 19 points while serving as the club\u2019s assistant captain.<\/p>\n
Lukashevich would play two more seasons in the MHL before making his way to North America, joining the USHL\u2019s Tri-City Storm for the 2023-24 campaign.<\/p>\n
In his one season with the Storm, he ranked third in points (43) and fourth in goals (11) and assists (32) among the league\u2019s defensemen during the regular season, earning Second-Team All-USHL honors.<\/p>\n
Sporting number 40, he attended Florida\u2019s 2024 Development Camp and changed his NCAA commitment from Northern Michigan to Michigan State.<\/p>\n
Lukashevich skated in 29 games, averaging 11:43 of ice time, in his first collegiate season with the Spartans. He finished his freshman year with a goal and six assists. His only goal of the campaign came on January 4, in the outdoor Winter Classic against the Wisconsin Badgers at Wrigley Field. After struggling to stay healthy and produce points, Lukashevich collected assists in each of the games of the final series of the season at Notre Dame.<\/p>\n
Seeking more playing time and an expanded role, Lukashevich made the decision to leave Michigan State after just one season, entering the transfer portal to make a move to the Miami RedHawks of the NCHC.<\/p>\n
The switch to Miami proved successful as Lukashevich put up two goals and a team-high 19 assists while posting a team-best plus-11 rating in 33 games for the RedHawks. His 21 points were tops among defensemen and fourth-highest on the squad behind Kocha Delic, Matteo Giampa and David Deputy. He blocked 37 shots which was the third-highest total on the team.<\/p>\n
Lukashevich was one of eight defenseman to attend Florida\u2019s recent 2026 Development Camp and he scored the only goal for Team Red in the 3-on-3 scrimmage held on the final day.<\/p>\n
A smooth skating defenseman who specializes in the transition game, Lukashevich has all the tools needed to eventually become a solid NHL player. He will continue to marinate at the college level before turning professional.
