While we\u2019re in the depths of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/tag\/nhl-offseason\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHL offseason<\/a>, at least we know it\u2019s coming back this fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are only 60 days until the <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Bruins<\/a> kick off the 2026-27 season. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ro_KvCvZFrs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vladimir Sobotka, anyone<\/a>?)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The well is pretty dry, but the Bruins announced their plans for the Prospects Showcase yesterday. An ensemble of prospects will be heading to Buffalo for the 11th straight year, but this time the tournament looks a little different. The Bruins will still get their two games in, though.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elsewhere around the hockey world, the IIHF announced its plans for the two nations that have been removed from international competition. That\u2019s not changing, especially on the highest level. The San Jose Sharks are also turning the page, and now two local guys are up for new deals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s also a Marty Walsh interview, trade rumors surrounding a young defenseman, and a feature story on a young Devils\u2019 forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Happy Friday, catch up on Bruins and league news in today\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonhockeynow.com\/category\/bruins-daily\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daily Bean<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Boston Bruins<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NHLBruins\/status\/2082828826304807077?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Boston Bruins (via \ud835\udd4f)<\/a>: The Bruins announced their schedule for the 2026 Prospects Showcase in Buffalo. It\u2019s the 11th straight season going to Buffalo, but this year will look a lot different. It\u2019s just the Bruins and the Sabres.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sunday, September 13 \u2013 5:00 PM<\/p>\n<p>Monday, September 14 \u2013 12:00 PM<\/p>\n<p>NHL News &amp; National Hockey Now<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iihf.com\/en\/news\/75411\/decision_on_russian_participation_for_the_2026-202\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IIHF<\/a>: The IIHF upheld the ban on the Russian national team, citing \u201congoing safety, security, and sporting integrity concerns.\u201d The IIHF will continue reviewing Russia on an event-by-event basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia will not be playing in any of the following tournaments:<\/p>\n<p>2027 Men\u2019s World Championship<\/p>\n<p>2027 World Junior Championship<\/p>\n<p>2027 U18 Women\u2019s World Championship<\/p>\n<p>2027 U18 Men\u2019s World Championship<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Russia also requested entry into the 2027 Women\u2019s World Championship, which will be reviewed in November 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iihf.com\/en\/news\/75410\/decision_on_belarusian_participation_for_the_iihf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IIHF<\/a>: The IIHF also issued an update on the Belarusian team\u2019s status. They, similarly to Russia, requested entry into five tournaments. Belarus will be held out of two for \u201congoing safety and security concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Belarus will not be playing in the following tournaments:<\/p>\n<p>2027 Men\u2019s World Championship<\/p>\n<p>2027 World Junior Championship<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/article\/swedens-farjestad-bk-backs-out-of-contract-with-cal-foote\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TSN<\/a>: Two days after signing him, F\u00e4rjestad BK (SHL) has cut ties with <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/cal-foote\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cal Foote<\/a>. The club heard the reaction, saying that there were \u201cconcerns, disappointment, and questions\u201d from a wide range of people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foote was one of five members of Team Canada\u2019s 2018 WJC team who were acquitted on sexual assault charges last summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sanjosehockeynow.com\/san-jose-sharks-graf-smith-grier-contract\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Jose Hockey Now<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/macklin-celebrini\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Macklin Celebrini<\/a> is signed. The Sharks still need to sign Lincoln native <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/collin-graf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Collin Graf<\/a>, and Lexington native <a href=\"https:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/will-smith\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Smith<\/a> is eligible for an extension. Sharks GM Mike Grier spoke on the two, saying that Graf is \u201cpretty close,\u201d while Smith is in the same boat as Celebrini. Sheng Peng has more from Grier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhltraderumors.me\/2026\/07\/blues-alexander-nikishin-interest.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NHLTradeRumors.me<\/a>: <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/alexander-nikishin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alexander Nikishin<\/a>. He\u2019s been a hot name in the market this summer, and the St. Louis Blues remain involved. According to Jim Rutherford of The Athletic, the Blues are looking to find the right price, but they want the 24-year-old left shot defenseman.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The big hurdle in front of St. Louis is <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/robert-thomas\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Thomas<\/a>, who the Hurricanes had interest in at the last trade deadline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nhl\/new-jersey-devils\/devils-arseny-gritsyuk-reflects-on-the-mental-toughness-test-that-changed-his-career\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Jersey Hockey Now<\/a>: The Devils recently signed <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/arseny-gritsyuk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arseny Gritsyuk<\/a> to a 3x$3.25M deal, keeping the 25-year-old Russian in Newark through the 2028-29 season. He spoke about his trying times with the game of hockey, and specifically, his time with Bob Hartley and Avangard Omsk.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, just a few years later, he has a different perspective on Hartley. Gritsyuk said Hartley \u201cwas probably the coach who truly transformed the player in me.\u201d Daniel Amoia has more on the relationship between the two, including the impact it had on the young Devils forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sportsnet Video<\/a>: Marty! However, yesterday was <a href=\"http:\/\/puckpedia.com\/player\/dylan-larkin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Larkin<\/a>\u2019s 30th birthday.
