I was unable to see the first Steelers touchdown by Germie Bernard after a missed tackle by Bills cornerback Maxwell Hairston because Spectrum lost the picture.<\/p>\n
The telecast also missed Damar Hamlin\u2019s interception live and was in commercial when a penalty against the Bills required punter Mitch Wishnowsky to re-kick what turned out to be the 19-yard punt that sealed his fate of being cut in favor of rookie Tommy Doman.<\/p>\n
Fans who didn\u2019t want to be distracted from game action also were annoyed by a lengthy interview with Nicholas Karoly, the executive chef in Highmark Stadium that focused on play-by-play announcer Andrew Catalon and analyst Steve Tasker eating pizza, beef on weck and chicken dishes. At one point, Catalon cracked, \u201care they still playing?\u201d<\/p>\n
Similarly, there was an amusing long interview \u2013 too long\u00a0\u2013 with pregame and postgame radio analyst Mitch Morse, who was illustrating the art of drinking through a beer horn.<\/p>\n
At least an interview with general manager Brandon Beane in the booth during game action focused on his view of certain players.<\/p>\n
I know it was \u201conly\u201d a preseason game. But it mattered to the second and third stringers trying to make the team. For that reason, the game action should have taken precedence over watching announcers eat and drink.<\/p>\n
There are a couple of notable retirements coming up at WEBR the Breeze.<\/p>\n
Bob Stilson, best known as \u201cCinema Bob\u201d during his appearances on Sandy Beach\u2019s WBEN-AM program, is retiring from his WEBR morning show \u201cUp Too Early\u201d in October. He has worked in media for more than 40 years.<\/p>\n
