{"id":657937,"date":"2026-09-08T18:15:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T18:15:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/657937\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T18:15:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T18:15:15","slug":"devils-arena-hosting-thrilling-college-hockey-matchup-for-first-time-since-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/657937\/","title":{"rendered":"Devils&#8217; Arena Hosting Thrilling College Hockey Matchup for First Time Since 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a very long wait, college hockey is returning to the home of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nhl\/new-jersey-devils\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Jersey Devils<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nhl\/new-jersey-devils\/devils-announce-2026-27-theme-night-giveaway-schedule\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Prudential Center<\/a> announced Monday that it will host the inaugural Hockey Knight in Jersey on Thursday, Dec. 10, featuring Army West Point against the Penn State Nittany Lions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The game will mark the first NCAA Division I men\u2019s hockey contest at the Devils\u2019 arena since the 2014 Liberty Hockey Invitational, which featured UConn, Princeton, Yale and Merrimack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The matchup comes just a couple days before the 127th edition of the annual Army-Navy football game at MetLife Stadium, helping create a major weekend for college athletics in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith college hockey being the latest addition to our thriving sports and entertainment programming portfolio, Prudential Center continues to take great pride in delivering a diverse array of event programming to our communit,\u201d Dylan Wanagiel, Vice President of Sports Properties and Special Events for Prudential Center\/HBSE, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Penn State enters the 2026-27 campaign following another NCAA Tournament appearance. They also reached their first-ever Frozen Four in 2025.
