They also currently hold the second wildcard spot in the Western Conference.
The Avs are 1-0-1 against the Mammoth, winning their home opener 2-1 before falling in OT just over a week later on the road. The Mammoth can become the first team to defeat the Avalanche twice in any fashion after Minnesota failed to reach that mark on Sunday.
Colorado is 14-0-2 and is on a 12-game winning streak at home. The franchise record is 18 games during the 2021-22 season, which eventually led to a Stanley Cup championship.
Scott Wedgewood is expected to be back between the pipes as head coach Jared Bednar continues to alternate his goalies on a game-to-game basis when they’re both healthy. Wedgewood will likely face Utah’s Karel Vejmelka. Both of them, along with Jake Oettinger in Dallas, were the first three goalies to reach 15 wins this season. They all play in the Central Division.
The Avs are expected to run the same lineup, which keeps Gabe Landeskog on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas.

Season Series

Oct. 9 vs Utah Mammoth (W, 2-1)
Oct. 21 at Utah Mammoth (L, 4-3 OT)
Dec. 23 vs Utah Mammoth
Feb. 25 at Utah Mammoth

Avalanche Injuries

Logan O’Connor (undisclosed, TBD)

READ MORE: 10 Observations: Power Play Was Powerful, Landeskog Elevated, and Fearless Brindley

Projected Avalanche Lines (Subject to Change)

Gabriel Landeskog — Nathan MacKinnon — Martin Necas
Artturi Lehkonen — Brock Nelson — Valeri Nichushkin
Victor Olofsson — Ross Colton — Gavin Brindley
Parker Kelly — Jack Drury — Joel Kiviranta

Devon Toews — Cale Makar
Josh Manson — Brent Burns
Samuel Girard — Sam Malinski

Mackenzie Blackwood
Scott Wedgewood

READ MORE: The Aftermath: Avalanche Humble Surging Wild, Extend Winning Streak to 5 Games

Projected Starters (Subject to Change)

Expected: Scott Wedgewood (COL)
Expected: Karel Vejmelka (UTA)

Upcoming Milestones

Brock Nelson — needs 3 assists for 300
Nathan MacKinnon — needs 3 goals for 400
Parker Kelly — needs 8 games for 300
Devon Toews — needs 10 points for 300

How to Watch

TV: Altitude TV
Radio: 92.5 FM

The Colorado Avalanche (26-2-7) are back home to take on the Utah Mammoth (18-17-3).
