Vancouver Canucks, Seattle Kraken reveal rosters for Prospects Showcase in Abbotsford<\/p>\n

Some of the top prospects for the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks are invading Abbotsford\u2019s Rogers Forum this weekend and the teams have recently shared who is making the trip.<\/p>\n
The pair of games run on Saturday (Sept. 12) at 4 p.m. and Sunday (Sept. 13) at 1 p.m. The Canucks also host a practice at Rogers Forum on Friday (Sept. 11) at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n
Abbotsford Canucks fans will be familiar with several of the players hitting the ice including: forwards Vilmer Alriksson, Austin Brimmer, Ty Mueller, Riley Patterson and Bennett Schimek; defenders Joe Artnsen, Kirill Kudryavtsev and Sawyer Mynio; and goalies Aku Koskenvuo and Ty Young.<\/p>\n

Mueller and Kudryavtsev were key pieces of the 2025 Calder Cup winning team and Mueller competed in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2026.<\/p>\n Patterson could be one to watch, as the 2024 fourth round pick had 84 points in 60 games last season with the OHL\u2019s Niagara IceDogs and also collected two points in four games with Abbotsford. It\u2019s likely that he will get opportunities offensively in Abbotsford this season. Alriksson, Mynio and Schimek all impressed in spurts last season in Abbotsford, with Mynio recording 21 points as a rookie defender. <\/p>\n Eyes will be on some of the Canucks recent high draft picks including Braeden Cootes and Adam Novotny. The pair of games marks the Abbotsford debut for both players. Cootes was chosen 15th overall by Vancouver in 2025 and posted 63 points in 45 games split between the WHL\u2019s Seattle Thunderbirds and Prince Albert Raiders. Novotny was taken 24th overall in 2026 and had 65 points in 58 games for the OHL\u2019s Peterborough Petes. Depending on their performances at this event and at training camp, they could spend time in the NHL, AHL or return to junior. Novotny cannot take advantage of the new 19-year-old rule until after Nov. 13 when he turns 19. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n Other Canucks players confirmed for the event consist of: forwards Lucian Bernat, Yaroslav Bryzgalov, 2026 Memorial Cup champion Gabriel Chiarot, Quinn Emerson, Brooks Rogowski, Ilya Safonov and Ryan St. Louis; defenders Arseni Anisimov, Carson Cameron, Alonso Gosselin and Tim Rego; and goalie Aleksei Medvedev.<\/p>\n The pair of games also mark the debut of new Abbotsford head coach Ryan Papaioannou, who was hired in July. <\/p>\n The Kraken also have some players who will be familiar to Abbotsford fans as members of the rival Coachella Valley Firebirds including: forwards Jagger Firkus, Oskar Fisker Molgaard and Jani Nyman; defenders Tyson Jugnauth and Ty Nelson; and goalie Nikke Kokko. <\/p>\n Squeezing in one more camp! \ud83c\udfd5\ufe0f<\/p>\n 2026 Rookie & Training Camps, pres. by @Starbucks<\/a>, are right around the corner. The 2022 second round pick was an illustrious scorer for the WHL\u2019s Moose Jaw Warriors and won the league\u2019s scoring title in 2023-24 with 126 points in 63 games. Jugnauth had an excellent rookie campaign and posted 45 points in 72 games. He was also named to the AHL all-rookie team. Nyman had 21 goals in 39 games for Coachella Valley and has also made an impact in Seattle with 13 points in 40 NHL games.<\/p>\n B.C. products on the Kraken team in Abbotsford consist of: Richmond\u2019s Lucas Dragicevic, Burnaby\u2019s Ryden Evans and Langley\u2019s Kaden Hammell. Two other interesting players to watch are forwards Jake O\u2019Brien and Eduard Sale, who were first round picks of Seattle in 2025 and 2023 respectively. O\u2019Brien played last season with Canucks prospect Caleb Malhorta on the OHL\u2019s Brantford Bulldogs and Sale had 27 points in 55 games with the Firebirds last season.<\/p>\n Other players confirmed for the event include: forwards Brody Gillespie, Andrei Loshko, Julius Miettinen, Carson Rehkopf and Nathan Villeneuve; defenders Alexis Bernier, Finn Kearns, Caden Price, Will Reynolds and Rylan Singh; and goalie Maks Corovic. <\/p>\n Tickets for the games are $15 per day and more information can be found at rogersforum.com\/event\/vancouver-canucks-prospect-showcase.<\/a><\/p>\n This year was the second year of a two-year deal between the Kraken and the Canucks to co-host prospects events.
