{"id":661288,"date":"2026-09-13T04:27:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T04:27:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/661288\/"},"modified":"2026-09-13T04:27:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T04:27:15","slug":"bump-lifts-flyers-to-rookie-win-over-rangers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/661288\/","title":{"rendered":"Bump Lifts Flyers to Rookie Win Over Rangers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the first installment of rookie games this weekend, the star for the <a href=\"https:\/\/973espn.com\/tags\/philadelphia-flyers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> is one of their prospects with NHL experience, and it showed on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bumpal01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=973espn.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-09-12_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Alex Bump<\/a> had a goal and an assist to help the Flyers to a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers at PPL Center in Allentown, PA.<\/p>\n<p>The Flyers opened the scoring at 4:23. Out of a scramble in the crease, Matthew Gard knocked home the opening goal to make it 1-0.<\/p>\n<p>The Rangers tied the game at 15:20 on the power play. A shot from Liam Greentree was deflected in by Dylan Roobroeck to even things at one.<\/p>\n<p>Through 20 minutes, shots were 11-8 Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>With under five minutes to go in the second, the Flyers took the lead again as Bump found a wide-open Cole Knuble in front to make it 2-1.<\/p>\n<p>The Flyers had a 22-15 lead in shots after two periods.<\/p>\n<p>Just 44 seconds into the third, Bump extended the lead to two with his second point of the game. The Rangers answered with another power-play goal just 49 seconds later, as Nathan Aspinall fired from the left circle.<\/p>\n<p>Carson Bjarnason played the entire game and finished with 27 saves on 29 shots in the win.
