But other revelations are now resurfacing about him.

Andrew Raycroft revealed on NHL Radio that Marchenko was among the players who were poorly prepared for the Blue Jackets’ training camp.

So he arrived at the Jackets’ camp completely “out of shape”.

“Andrew Raycroft just said on NHL Radio that Kirill Marchenko is one that showed up to camp out of shape.”

Rick Bowness was angry about ten days ago after seeing the physical condition of some players.

The new collective bargaining agreement rules now prohibit mandatory fitness testing at the beginning of camp.

An attitude that could scare the Maple Leafs

Some coaches abused these tests in the past, but now players like Marchenko are taking advantage of the system.

Bowness remains known for being a demanding coach, with little tolerance for players who don’t take things seriously.

This story could scare the Maple Leafs, considering that Marchenko is moving from one locker room to another with this reputation.

Leafs fans had instead become accustomed to the tenacity of Matthew Knies, a player known for his constant physical intensity.

This contrast inevitably raises questions about Marchenko’s integration into his new environment.

This kind of revelation could also explain why Kent Hughes seemed reluctant to pay the price being asked for the forward.

Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes specifically prioritize a team culture based on players’ attitude and commitment.

The Montreal Canadiens, meanwhile, are now continuing their own season without having acquired this highly talented forward after all.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on this over the next few weeks and days.

Previously on Montreal Hockey Fanatics

POLL

4 HOURS AGO|288 ANSWERS

A worrying revelation about Kirill Marchenko emerges right after the Maple Leafs acquire him

Was it the right decision for the Canadiens to avoid paying the hefty price for Kirill Marchenko?

A worrying revelation about Kirill Marchenko emerges right after the Maple Leafs acquire him…

[5103
12320,265,5,1749,1944,797,264,21,5147,4,12090,3613
post-674071","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-montreal-canadiens","tag-andrew-raycroft","tag-canadiens","tag-hockey","tag-kent-hughes","tag-kirill-marchenko","tag-matthew-knies","tag-montreal","tag-montreal-canadiens","tag-montrealcanadiens","tag-nhl","tag-rick-bowness","tag-trade
["GET
