{"id":679135,"date":"2026-10-05T07:48:27","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T07:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/679135\/"},"modified":"2026-10-05T07:48:27","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T07:48:27","slug":"kraken-erupt-early-roll-past-flames-6-1-in-home-opener-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nhl\/679135\/","title":{"rendered":"Kraken erupt early, roll past Flames 6-1 in home opener | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SEATTLE \u2014 The Kraken made sure their home opener was decided early.<\/p>\n<p>Seattle scored three times in the first eight minutes and pulled away with a 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night at Climate Pledge Arena.<\/p>\n<p>Berkly Catton opened the scoring 2:22 into the first period, and Mackie Samoskevich followed less than three minutes later with his first goal as a Kraken. Bobby McMann made it 3-0 at the 7:40 mark, sending Seattle into control before the game had settled in.<\/p>\n<p>Samoskevich added his second goal late in the second period. Shane Wright also scored in the middle frame, while Jordan Eberle answered Calgary\u2019s lone goal with a score 39 seconds later in the third.<\/p>\n<p>Joey Daccord finished with 32 saves for Seattle. Morgan Frost got the Flames on the board with a power-play goal with 5:35 remaining, ending Daccord\u2019s shutout bid and marking the first power-play goal allowed by Seattle this season.<\/p>\n<p>The victory moves the Kraken to 2-1-0, and both wins have come against Calgary. Seattle also defeated the Flames in Thursday\u2019s season opener, when six different skaters scored.<\/p>\n<p>Calgary remains without a win. Goaltender Dustin Wolf stopped 21 shots but has allowed 12 goals in two starts this season, both against Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>The Kraken are back home Tuesday night to face the Vegas Golden Knights.
