Furthermore, netminder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lyonal01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-10-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Alex Lyon<\/a> suffered a setback in his recovery from an upper-body injury and won\u2019t return to the ice for a few more days.<\/p>\n<p>With all due respect to Kozak and Lyon, Dahlin is the most important piece for the Sabres to get back into the lineup. The former first overall pick has registered two goals and four points in six games for Buffalo this season while averaging 23:38 of ice time per game. The Sabres fell to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime last night, their first game with Dahlin leading the charge this season.<\/p>\n<p>Additional injury notes from the Eastern Conference:<\/p>\n<p>The winless Philadelphia Flyers received a positive update on defenseman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/ristora01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-10-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rasmus Ristolainen<\/a> this morning. After missing the last five games with a hand injury, Ristolainen returned to practice this morning (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JHallNBCS\/status\/2110406997573325255\" rel=\"nofollow\">per NBC\u2019s Jordan Hall<\/a>). Unfortunately, while his return to practice is a step in the right direction, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JHallNBCS\/status\/2110425126714089531\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hall later reported<\/a> that Ristolainen and fellow defenseman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/y\/yorkca01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-10-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cameron York<\/a> (upper-body) won\u2019t be available against the Detroit Red Wings tomorrow.<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SunGarrioch\/status\/2110197422882271305?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">According to TSN\u2019s Bruce Garrioch<\/a>, forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/greigri01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.prohockeyrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-10-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ridly Greig<\/a> left the Ottawa Senators\u2019 game last night due to a \u201cstrain.\u201d Ottawa has yet to issue a firm update on Greig\u2019s status.
