The St. Louis Blues provided a statement after anti-Israel signs were seen in the crowd during a game Thursday.(ADL Heartland)<\/p>\n
The signs displayed during the game showed an Israeli flag smeared red. Other signs said \u201cFree America from Israel\u201d. <\/p>\n
The Freedom Convoy USA shared the following statement:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe spent multiple hours talking with the good people of St. Louis outside and inside the arena. And an overwhelming majority agreed: they don\u2019t want their tax dollars funding Israel\u2019s genocidal military while they struggle to afford food, housing, healthcare, their children\u2019s education and the basic necessities of life.<\/p>\n
Blues fans have every right to ask why their tax dollars help fund Israel\u2019s genocide of the Palestinian people — while their own communities struggle. In a city at the heart of America\u2019s defense industry, those questions hit close to home. They deserve answers, not smears.<\/p>\n
Criticizing Israel is in no way, shape or form antisemitic. Tom treating the two as interchangeable actually holds Jewish people collectively responsible for a state\u2019s actions, and that\u2019s incredibly antisemitic. Tom Stillman should know better than to silence legitimate criticism by branding it hate.”<\/p>\n
