<\/p>\nThe St. Louis Blues were on the verge of pulling off a first-round upset in the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs against the Winnipeg Jets.<\/p>\n
The Blues started the series with back-to-back victories to put Winnipeg on the ropes right away, but the Jets responded with wins in Game 3 and Game 4 to level the affair.<\/p>\n

St. Louis then pushed the Jets to the brink of elimination with a win in Game 5 before the Jets forced a Game 7 with a victory in Game 6. On Sunday, the Blues carried a two-goal lead into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n
They were also up by a goal until there were 1.6 seconds remaining in regulation, as Cole Perfetti scored to tie the score and send the game to overtime.<\/p>\n

Winnipeg did not waste the life that Perfetti’s goal breathed into its season, as Adam Lowry scored in the second overtime to hand the Jets a 4-3 win\u2014and a seat in the second round.<\/p>\n
While the Jets crowd at Canada Life Centre immediately went to cloud nine after Lowry’s goal, the Blues and their fans wallowed in hockey misery, in disbelief of the stunning turnaround that left St. Louis packing for vacation.<\/p>\n

Despite the brutal nature of their loss, the Blues are not discouraged.<\/p>\n
“Pushed the Presidents\u2019 Trophy winners to the brink. What an incredible series. We\u2019ll be back,” the Blues posted on their official X account.<\/p>\n
The Blues, who missed the playoffs in the previous two seasons, can still take heart from the fact that they managed to return to the postseason after going 44-30-8 in the regular season.<\/p>\n
As for the Jets, they will be taking on the Dallas Stars in a second-round series that kicks off on Wednesday in Winnipeg.<\/p>\n
