People keep leaving D-Lo out of the mix. Y’all must have forgot who he is and what a problem he can be.
Dlo is playing for a contract this year and they now added Gobert who definitely helps hides Dlos weaknesses and improves his strengths. I think Dlo will score close to the same as he did last year, but he is the quarterback on this team now. I can definitely see him averaging 8-9 assists per game this year having to feed all the players around him. I’ve seen so many people say, “You should have traded Dlo to get a better point gaurd.” I’m sorry what point gaurd in free agency or available for trade was available this offseason? Malcom Brogdon maybe…. but is he really better than Dlo???
Wait a sec.. I’m not trying to make Dlo into something he’s not, and I’m certainly not saying he’s perfect, but he was pretty decent for us last year.
And yeah, the Memphis series was rough. Ja is a nightmare match up for Dlo, and also for our scrambling defense.
Yes, he’ll have an even better year this year, but not necessarily because it’s a contract year. I think he’s going to benefit hugely from Gobert in the pnr game and just in general by being surrounded by a better group of starters.
The contract year will compound and make it a good year for him. I heard that historically speaking he does well on his contract years (I haven’t looked into this) so it is a factor. Curious at what point in the season we will be able to sign him. It’s up to us and seems like we will need to go into lux tax to sign him – another major step for our squad.
