The man that gave us the lead for the first time that game, and it was a game-WINNER!! My family all went NUTS watching this play. Love it, and White will forever be woven into the fabric of New England sports lore.
Couldn’t find a better model player than James White. Just always does his job and accepts any role. He had 795 career touches between regular and post season and only fumbled 4 times. High IQ player. I’m happy for him but I also feel bad thinking he could’ve gave more if it wasn’t for that injury.
Even though every person on the D knew that as soon as White was in the game, Brady was throwing to him, and they still couldn’t stop it. Caught everything and literally never fumbled. Not once. He was missed badly last year and will be missed badly for now on.

I still love the fact that in this game, NE won, but by the technical truth that the game ended with NE winning in OT rules so that it was over the instant the touchdown was called, *NE won but never had the lead for even one second of game time.*
Am I alone in still wishing this running play was a little more clear-cut. Patriots hadn’t won a super bowl by more than 3 points and we had to win this one by about 4 inches. In real time I wasn’t convinced he was in. We’ve all seen the replay so yeah he was, but I wish White could have busted over a guy and hit pay dirt with his feet.
