  28. I’ll admit I was pessimistic knowing our history but Holy Crap we are officially a Threat in the East! Like a Damn Real and Clear Threat in the Eastern Conference! I’m so damn excited right now!

  29. I think a 4 year deal makes actually a lot of sense. Going to be around the time we start our resigning/signing of players. A couple years after the cap increase so we can see what we are working with. Laine gets to keep improving and have some flexibility in the future, and has the chance to get a longer and more expensive contract down the line (hopefully with us).

    Really stoked about this!

    The term makes me think the FO is pushing to make the playoffs this coming season, so I think we’re going to see a big hockey trade rather than a simple cap dump.

  34. I wish it was a little longer but Im glad he’s signed for a few years. Definitely a chance for him to earn more on his next contract. It’s going to be a looong off season waiting to see this team play again. Seems like it can’t get here soon enough.

  39. I think this is Laine’s “prove it” contract and I think they’re both still measuring each other up. Laine wants to know we’ll still be competitive in 3+ years time and Jarmo told Laine to go gangbusters on the league with Johnny and he would back up the Brinks truck into Patty’s garage.

  40. Laine and Gaudreau playing with Sillinger (most likely) will elevate sillys game sooooo fast. He is going to learn so much playing with them and will progress very fast
