Pretty enjoyable listen thus far; didn’t know that McCown was actually born in Columbus! John Shannon, his co-jhost, is friends with JD (they’re both from British Columbia) and stood up for your city when people were slagging Cbus after Johnny’s signing.

10 more lbs of muscle for Peeke, I am excite. Definitely says something about his dedication to improving if he’s putting in that much work. Sure hope we see similar gains from Bean and Boqvist.

So good. I always love hearing JD talk shop. Some really great info in here.
Highlights from my listen:
– Hearing Bjorky understand the business side and while it hurts he at least got why it happened. Also nice to hear JD reiterate how hard it was for Jarmo to make the move.
– JD probably talking out of turn since it’s Lars choice but Laine starting on the RW with Johnny and I assume Boone in the middle hopefully works well for us.
– Hearing that we’ve really leaned on our Alums as extra sets of ears is really fascinating. I wonder if more teams are doing this or if we’re alone in leveraging past players to help the franchise out. Maybe it’s an evolution for every team and we’re just now seeing the fruits of it.
– Hearing JDs experience in Calgary and the varied comments was pretty fun haha.
– As mentioned, getting 10lbs on Peeke could be huge if it doesn’t impact his speed. He’s not the quickest but if he’s noticeably slower could be an issue.
– The way JD talks about letting Laine & JG go wild makes me think Boone is the perfect center for them. Defensively responsible, able to go net front and provide screens as needed. Can score himself and make some sneaky passes in tight. I hope that line is dynamite as it looks on paper but we’ll see. I’d love for Boone to make all the doubters STFU about him not being 1C caliber.
– Nice hearing that the deal to get Nash to retire as a Jacket was super close but they made the right choice in just having him join the FO.
