Lou has done some things that almost everyone has questioned but I highly doubt that he would ship off Barzal to make a 30+ year old Kadri as his teams center piece.
Pretty dumb take. You only trade Barzal if he tells you he’s not signing long term and will only take his QO next year. Any GM that would move Barzal to make room for Kadri should be dragged by their feet and fired on the spot.
I think a more intriguing conversation earlier in the off-season would have been, if it was the only way it could happen, do you trade Barzal to make room for Gaudreau? Take the emotion out of it…which would you choose? I think this year is going to be a huge one to see what we really have in Barzy from a scoring standpoint, now that he’s (presumably) freed from the stifling confines of Trotz’s system.
