  1. The Israeli national team continues to prepare for the European Championship and is preparing for a match tomorrow (Tuesday) against Romania as part of the preparation. About 2,500 tickets were sold for the game, and the fans are expected to see Danny Abdia who returns after an illness and will be gradually integrated according to his coach Guy Goodes.

Goodes commented on his star’s condition: “Abadiah should play, we’ll see how much tomorrow. He hasn’t done anything for a few days, so the amount of minutes will be different, we don’t want him to get injured, so everything will be in moderation, even today in training. I hope there will be more minutes on Thursday because the goal is To combine him with the squad because until now there have been three games, one against Auburn where he was dominant because many significant players were not there and the two games in Georgia where he was not and all the rest were. Now our importance is to combine Avdia with the rest of the squad, between Danny’s talent and the team’s teamwork This, in my opinion, is the key to everything later.”

The coach added: “I don’t quite know what I want to achieve, I want to see progress in what we are working on. There is a lot of training, we worked well in Finland. We worked hard. I think the results of the training we did here are reflected at least in our fitness, in the distribution of the ball and on the way where we played. We need to continue playing at a high pace, we will want to refine and improve many elements both against Finland and Sweden and after that for EuroBasket. There are things we didn’t have time to work on. There are things that will look different in the real games such as the distribution of minutes, there will be a wide rotation against Romania as well.

Goodes concluded: “The preparatory games give us a better picture than the 5 on 5 in our training. We tried to enter a high-quality tournament in Greece, the Georgians, for example, went to it, but in the end it didn’t work out on the Greek side, we agreed. Obviously, I would have preferred to be in a tournament with national teams quality, but that’s what we have at the moment. That’s the situation and at least from the Georgian side we saw a different style and size, interior players at the highest European level. We saw how we have to deal with them. I don’t know the Romanians too well, we have to work on our stuff. Don’t consider the quality of the opponent. I think a lot of the team is in pretty good shape, it’s important for us to distribute the minutes accordingly and decide who the 14 will be against Finland and Sweden. After that we’ll decide who the 12 will be in the European Championship.”
