  1. So I’ve watched every game this year that I’ve been in front of a screen and listened to almost every other game and I will continue to do that because I love the Brewers. I think the hardest thing to come to terms with this year is that we just aren’t fun to watch. We rarely lose a game 8-7 in a back and forth slugfest or 1-0 in a pitching duel. Ever loss just feels excruciating and many of the wins feel like pulling teeth. I’m by no means throwing in the towel on the team or the season but man I hope they start putting together a more watchable product down the stretch.

  2. Is it safe to say after this year the window is pretty much closed? I’m ready to sell and start the rebuild and focus on basketball/football again.

  3. Every Loss I lose more and more hope with this team. I want to believe they can be really good but they just continue to disappoint.

  4. I’m excited for the daily “actually the offense isn’t a steaming pile of shit” post.

  5. No-hit from the 4th inning onward. Our best offensive performance was our big “slugger” who hit 2 singles.

This is a taste of what a playoff series will look like, much like the past few years. Bites of the apple my ass

  6. I don’t think we’re gonna be competitive short term or long term at this rate 🙁

  7. I don’t hate that we lost our matchup with Urias. He’s faced us 6 times, once in early April 2019 when we scored 6 runs off of him, and then in his very next start and also in all 4 of his other starts against us he has made us look absolutely silly. We’ve scored a total of 4 runs in those 5 starts, lmao. No comment on our offense, we pitched quite well without using any of our best arms but 2 homers and an error were easily enough to totally bury us.

Tomorrow they have their rookie Pepiot on the mound who averages 4 innings per start, with a 5.25 FIP and 1.45 WHIP. They used 3 good relievers (arguably their 2 best) today and it’ll be up to Woodruff to outlast Pepiot and help us gain some leverage there. And then Thursday is Burnes day. Split the series and I feel good. Losing with Burnes or in the Woody-vs-rookie matchup and things will look much more bleak.

2 games out is nothing, we’ve recovered from this exact position in June this year as well as in 2018, 2019, and (lol) 2020. Despite what our commentators were implying(?) our schedule gets OUTRAGEOUSLY easy after we go to LA next week. That stretch begins with 13 straight against cellar dwellers, and the final breakdown is 27 cellar dwellers, a home doubleheader against the .500 Giants, and 10 games against playoff teams (8 at home).
No matter how pessimistic y’all wanna be about this team, there is EASILY a path for an average-skill team to win this division or at the very least pass up the Padres or Phils. Just gotta survive LA.

  8. This team is done this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost all 7 to the Dodgers in the next few weeks.

  9. We are not a playoff team.

On the bright side I think most of our pitchers did well and Yelich got some hits.

Will still watch and listen the brewers, even see them play one more time this year but I have come to terms that we will miss the playoffs this year but we do have some promising players in the minors

  10. “Hey everyone, what is up for tonight?” *leans back in chair and sips coffee*

“We are playing the winningest team in the sport”

    *sprays coffee everywhere*

I didn’t watch, I barely listened, but what we expected happened. As with every game in the (sometimes it feels interminable) season, it is just a game. Pick up and go again. If nothing else this season brought me two new hats and that is a serious matter.

  11. I finally said fuck it tonight. Didn’t even tune in. I enjoyed the finale of Better Call Saul. After I checked on the score and realized I made the correct call.

  12. With 6 more games against the Dodgers over the next week & a half the Brewers could be pretty much out of the playoff race by September. At this point I think the only question left is whether this collapse will spur the front office to trade away their assets this offseason or actually spend money and make improvements.

  13. I’m praying every day for the rest of the year that Yelich retires this offseason. It’s already hard enough to win a WS as a small market team, but winning as a small market team when 20% of your payroll is going to a slap hitting DH makes it damn near impossible. There’s no chance he gets traded so it’s come to hoping for his retirement.

  14. The good news is the Brewers offense is on fire.

The bad news is that it’s the bad kind of being on fire.
