  1. Carson Palmer was a solid player for the Cardinals. Kind of bizarre to bring him up when he was never a Bengal.

  2. I liked both. The issue was that the shit for brains owner wouldn’t hire / pay good O-linemen

  3. Kitna in 2003 brought the Bengals their first non-losing season (8-8) since 1996. Helped Chad get to his first probowl.

Kitna in 2004 gracefully took the role as backup QB and mentor to Carson Palmer who was given the nod as starter.

Man of faith. I liked his + hats he wore in press conferences.

Kinda of a journeyman but the personification of making the best out if his opportunities. Had a longer career than most will in the NFL.

    Good Bengo đź‘Ť.

  4. People shit on Carson way too much. He was a huge part of rare success in the organizations history.

  5. I’ll never say a bad thing about Kitna. Idk about border line legend but he was certainly the right guy for the Bengals at the right time.

  6. I worked at Dick’s Sporting goods in Springdale while in college from 2003-2005. Kitna came in one weekend with his son and bought him a Palmer jersey. Signed some autographs too. He really is a stand up guy.

  7. I don’t get the Palmer hate. Dude was flat out lied too by the organization. Left to get destroyed behind a penny pinched line. And the team had zero accountability.

  8. Bobby Hill didn’t quit. All former Bengals > Palmer. He’s a quitter and tried to tell Joe not to play here.

  9. What incentive does Carson have to lie? Especially about what the organization promised to change for him? Similar to burrow? If he wanted to retire he would’ve just done so instead of threatening his retirement if things weren’t changing for the better. Prior to him retiring you have your all pro running back saying the exact same things Carson’s issue doesn’t exist in a bubble its a trend and yes boomer is on board now but he expressed his displeasure with the organization with the same issues which is refusing to change for the better because they’re so cheap and set in their ways. Carson faced the same issue Andy faced which is no effort from the organization to fix the holes on the team in order to push them over the edge into super bowl contender and instead caused them to go downhill and in Carson’s case got him injured in the off-season thanks to the poor o line. Andy didn’t overcome what Carson faced he fell victim to it just like Carson its why he isn’t here now he just wasn’t vocal (that we know of) to the organization and public about what needed to be done andy ended up with a poor oline and not enough weapons and a coaching change that should’ve happened years too early. The university of Dayton is just now getting renovations and when aj went down many people came out and questioned why they were even playing on a field like that because of it’s reputation of being so bad yes AJ was hurt before but this injury put him on the fast track to being done for. Also going back to andy a bit he was part of the problem he was never going to get the team over the hump he was a mediocre qb at best look how he performed when the lights were on or look at how many touchdowns he missed because of his poor accuracy and arm strength. Andy needed a great team on offense and defense and with a QB like andy if the organization can’t plug in the proper pieces he doesn’t have enough to take you far it just wasn’t in his skill set

  10. Am I taking crazy pills? Do you guys who hate on Palmer live through the pre-Marvin years? Jon Kitna had Favre’s mindset without the talent. He was an interception machine. Yes he won Comeback Player of the Year, yes he was here when Chad got his first Pro Bowl selection, but you can’t even come close to compare Kitna with Carson Palmer’s skillset. Palmer was elite in every capacity. It’s revisionist history to call him weak-minded.

Carson Palmer had the Bengals on the cusp of greatness. I firmly believe they would have made it to the Super Bowl if not for his injury. Criticize him for the way he left, criticize him for how he still seems to hold a grudge, but don’t act like he didn’t give it his all when he played for us. The man was the most talented QB this city had ever seen until Joe Burrow arrived, and yes I am counting Kenny and Boomer.
