[Clark] Pelicans unwilling to trade Brandon Ingram for Kevin Durant

>If Kevin Durant gets moved, the New Orleans Pelicans could be players in the sweepstakes, but that would likely require them to surrender Brandon Ingram. League sources say the Pelicans are unwilling to do so. Ingram is nine years younger than Durant, and in terms of annual average value, he costs approximately $15 million less.

  1. I’m also hearing reports that the Bucks aren’t willing to trade Giannis for KD. Still no word regarding the Nuggets openness to trade Jokic though.

  2. Ingram, JoVal, Herb Jones, and 2 picks (Lakers/Bucks picks) for KD honestly doesn’t seem like too much to give up, but I guess the Pelicans must like Ingram a lot.

  3. Patiently waiting for people to shit on Ingram because Pelicans don’t want to trade him for KD

  4. Trading Ingram for a KD that wouldn’t be motivated to play in New Orleans is not smart

  5. Just trade Zion. Not like he plays anyway. The Brooklyn bodega’s aren’t ready for him.

  6. Let’s just have every team that wants a shot at KD put in a blind bid and see if the Nets bite on any of them.

  7. No thanks to the old bull, they’ll take the young calf… Head pubes to ball fro.

  8. Nets are better off waiting. No team is gonna break their core to trade for KD in the off season, they’re gonna want to see how the season plays out first. Nets are unning the risk of getting even worse offers but chances are one team will get desperate and trade for him.

  9. Pelicans aren’t winning anything with Ingram as their best player but Durant isn’t leading them to a ring either. I don’t know why the Pelicans are even in talks with the Nets, they need to decide what they want to do with Zion before entering trade talks for big names.

  10. Pels are in a great spot. I wouldn’t do it either. Kd now has a rep of blowing up teams and taking the easy road.
I don’t think he will leave bkn personally. His best chance to win is there.

  11. Ingram is no superstar but would be a solid second option in terms of scoring. I pelicans still need alot of growth and experience in the post season. It makes sense not to want to trade for him. You put a seasoned win now player on a team full of players in their early 20s not a smart move.

  12. Smart for them. KD is a generational talent, and his trade value is really high so most organizations don’t want to take the risk. Especially if he wants to bounce in the middle of a contract.

  13. BI already offers probably about 80-85% of what KD offers, but being 9 years younger, making $15m less, and actually wanting to be there is huge. BI and the money to get good role players is probably a better team than KD and vet min guys.

  14. The anti kd circle jerk is too strong after getting swept in the first round. This time last season people would be giving up the haul Brooklyn wants for him

  15. no surprise lol. i find it hard to believe that theres more than one GM willing to work with this situation at this point.

  16. Ingram is 10-years younger than KD. I’m 2~3 years time, it’s very likely Ingram and KD will play at the same level: Ingram will be 27yo and KD will be 37yo…

  17. Nets probably asked for Zion and Ingram plus all 1sts they can offer for KD and Kyrie

  18. Remember when everyone thought KD would be getting crazy offers?

When players only demand certain teams while under contract for 4 more years is a major problem.

The next CBA is going to result in a lockout.

You can’t sign a long-term contract then demand a trade a few years after. That makes no sense. These players want the money and to control their destiny.

At least LeBron played out his contracts. These guys ain’t loyal anymore. I miss the early 2000’s when players just played.

  19. This is why superstars can’t sign massive contracts and then demand a trade… a superstar-type trade would require any trade parther to gut their team. If you had one year left you could use that as leverage and get a non-superstar type trade.

  20. Doesn’t make sense to split them up for a 34 year old and get a 1-3 year run max when they could have Zion and Ingram for another decade

  21. I’ll trade KD for picks and filler, but I don’t get why anyone would want to trade stars for someone who fucks up franchises and runs at first signs of adversity, and in the mid 30’s with an injury history. Fuck that.

  22. Exactly what I thought the first time I heard this. Ingram is basically a much younger version of Kevin Durant already. Why would you trade him and half your roster plus draft pics for the old model that most likely won’t be happy in New Orleans anyway? The Pelicans are on the rise so why mess it up?
