   I like the team we have. Am I wrong here? Just make a depth move on D for Salo/Aho insurance and see what Lambert can do with this squad.

5. Nah Lou needs to be fired. Plain and simple. This team missed the playoffs and all he did was fire our Stanley Cup winning coach and did nothing to improve the roster. Fucking fire him.

7. The fact the rest of the team didn’t improve makes trading a first for Romanov that much more brutal. When it happens, this will be a long rebuild.

9. Monahan can also be feasibly bought out, for a cap hit of $2m for the next two seasons. He’s making $6.3m for one more season, then UFA.

13. i just want to let everyone know that if you look at past teams and how things panned out, we have 2 more “good” years before our rebuild.

14. The most embarrassing part is that our brand new arena will be empty next year because there isn’t a single reason for people to get excited and come out to games. It’s the same (older) team that wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs.

16. Ultimately does missing out on Kadri feel like a world-ending deal? Absolutely not… My main gripe is that professional sports are first and foremost entertainment, and what Lou has done the past couple of years in regards to keeping fans completely in the dark in the offseason makes this team utterly unexciting during the summer.

    It’s cute when you’re winning to have the veil of secrecy around signings, but in probably the most anticipated season in 30+ years that flat out sucked, I feel like the fans are owed at least knowing what our roster is going to look like before Labor Day

24. Good. I liked Nazem, but we don’t need to sign another aging vet to a high-risk, medium-reward contract.

    Whether by mistake or not, this team is now in fantastic position to retool should we shit the bed next season. And if we’re as good or better than the years of previous runs, we have the wherewithal to make a deadline acquisition or two.
