  1. Nor should they, really. He’s an RFA next year even if we don’t trade him. He didn’t show up in the playoffs. Let him prove his value this coming season and let the market decide what he’s worth.

  2. He’s a RFA next year. Let him earn his next contract. If he gets signed to an offer sheet, then re-evaluate. He’s not a max player or anything close to it at the moment. Not worth becoming ineligible for trade either.

  3. They have no reason to extend him now worst case he goes to RFA and heat still control his destiny

  4. It’s in his best interest to wait until next season anyway honestly, had he balled out in the playoffs this year that would be different.

  5. Hopefully KD and Mitchell get traded before the season starts so that this gets settled. Either trade him or extend him I don’t want an Ayton/Brunson situation next year

  6. Ngl, I was worried that we were gonna sign him to a max. Good on the FO to wait for him to prove it.

  7. I’m not saying he had a great playoffs but acting like a player held back by an injury in the playoffs isn’t a critical factor coming off a landslide 6MOTY and being the 3rd/4th most important player on a 1st seed team. He’s proven a lot already and we’d be silly to let him go, even if RFA.
