Philadelphia Eagles: Board the Reed Blankenship hype train ASAP

Yup, barring any major injury, he’s 100% making the team.
Gannon was just raving about how he can be used as a true box safety while also being someone that can cover 1v1. He’s basically the complete package as far as what you’re looking for at the position, and has a chance to be a real steal as a UDFA.
I wish my name was Reed, because then I could say “yes, my name’s Reed. Reed Blankenship.” Oh, also I wish my last name was Blankenship.
Man, the reporting was actually pretty good here – until he revealed that he doesn’t understand our starting S position when he refers to Anthony Harris as the primary/fixed starting safety.
That job is firmly Marcus Epps’. The team is super high on Epps. If there’s anyone who Blankenship will earn a starting role next to, it’s Epps.
If it weren’t for Tartt’s personal issue holding him out of a chunk of camp and his struggle to pick up the Eagles’ scheme, there was a really possibility that he would have beat out Harris (who has had a pretty uninspiring camp according to most sources) to be a starter next to Epps. It’s Harris that might lose the starting job.
I struggle to see how someone who understands enough details to discuss Reed Blankenship intelligently along with how Ugo Amadi plays into the situation, but doesn’t realize that Epps is our top safety. Not Harris. And it’s not close.
