Remember when Archbishop Murphy High School made national headlines for being too good? Abe Lucas did a short interview back then.

Funny to note that Lucas says he was 6’8″ back in high school but now he’s listed at 6’6″.
I played against AM in high school. It’s a cool story from the outside that they were “too good” but within the conference you had scenarios where kids that were like 5’7” 130-lbs from Granite Falls or something had to play against 6’6” kids like Abe. Every other team in the conference was totally over it and it was a legitimate safety hazard for smaller schools who didn’t have the recruitment pool AM did. Plus they played dirty as fuck and had no sportsmanship whatsoever lol
When I played football our coach would walk around and just ask us our height and weight, lol. You think we were telling them the truth?

These guys absolutely pummeled our school on our field in the playoffs one year lol, pretty cool to see the local kid stay in Seattle though!
