  1. > “Times have changed,’’ Broncos general manager George Paton said this week in a sit-down interview with 9NEWS in preview of his team’s preseason game Saturday (11 a.m., Channel 20) against the Bills in Buffalo. “That’s for sure. We try to get the work in practice.

    > “Every coach is different, every team is different. We didn’t play our starters week 1, we’ll see about week 2. But we are getting a lot of work in with our practices. We had that scrimmage with the (Cowboys last week), two great heavy practices this week. So we feel good about where we’re at.’’

  2. While the fan in me would love to see the starters, I understand the thinking in keeping people healthy for actual games. We just have to trust coach and his staff. They see these guys working every day.

  3. I think of this not as protecting the players like they are cattle but more about respecting everyone’s wishes. The starters want to limit their risk and stay healthy. The guys fighting for their chances to be on a team want all the chances they can get.

  4. If we had a rookie QB then I would be a bit concerned about the starters not 100% playing but ultimately based on the Cowboys game I think we’re playing the players who need to get reps and giving all the chances we can afford to the players who are fighting for a roster spot. It’s not like Simmons and Kjax sitting in variations of cover 0/1 for 3-10 snaps makes them any better for instance.

  5. Yet, they’ll rip off every fan in the league making them pay for this horseshit. Just get rid of these things and go to an 18 week schedule already.

  6. I actually love preseason games. I live in DC and a few years ago the Broncos came in town I was able to get two dream seats right behind the bench. Starters played I think the first quarter and after that it was really easy to interact with them. A lot of them spent the rest of the game talking to fans and signing things. I even got a video talking to Brandon Marshall and he signed my Peyton jersey. Honestly one of the best days in my life. Never been to a Broncos game before that but I hope to go to the Broncos Ravens game this year as it’s in my market and my brother is a Ravens fan.
