Tyrese Haliburton: “I was just writing down regrets I have in my life and the only resentment I could come up with in my life right now is the Sacramento Kings. And it’s like, I don’t want to hold onto that. If I’m being completely honest, that [trade] is such a blessing for me.”

>“I’m not gonna lie — for a while, it was just complete resentment towards, honestly, everybody in the organization if I’m being quite frank, even people who had nothing to do with [the trade],” Haliburton told Basketball News. “It was just resentment towards the organization as a whole. And that was so immature of me. It’s funny — the other day I was just writing down regrets I have in my life, unfulfilled expectations and resentments, and the only resentment I could come up with in my life right now is the Sacramento Kings. And it’s like, I don’t want to hold onto that.

>“If I’m being completely honest, that [trade] is such a blessing for me. It’s so easy now to look at it that way, but it’s a complete blessing for me to be in the situation that I’m in, to have the ability to showcase what I can do and play my natural position. It’s helping me a ton. So, you know, it’s love at the end of the day. It is what it is. Just taking a step back and self-reflecting on a lot of different things in life, I think it made me a bigger person and just have more self-awareness.”

  1. The kings really traded away a promising young player that actually wanted to be there. I can see them regretting this move in the future

  2. The man said he wanted to turn the Kings around and they said we can’t have that here in Sacramento so they traded him.

  3. “Tyrese actually wants to be here? There has to be something wrong with him.”

    – probably the Kings management’s line of thinking.

  4. I mean being traded is a big part of the NBA, he’s obviously learnt a lot from being traded for the first time. I’m sure it wont be his last time either.

  5. >leaves the kings

    >”I think it made me a bigger person and just have more self-awareness.”

    it truly is basketball hell

  6. I’m not as low on the trade as others are, as Sabonis is very talented and a better fit with Fox, but man, there’s something about how much Haliburton wanted to help the Kings. Fun player to watch too

  7. I’ve seen some comments on this sub about how he’s overrated but I think he’s hyped for a good reason, man is about to have a monster season

  8. Finally find a bright young future superstar who wants to be in Sacramento

    Immediately trade him

  9. Personally, I think haliburton is massively overrated by this sub. We’ll see. He was really good after the trade but I’m not super convinced that’s the player he is full time

  10. I don’t understand drafting Haliburton, then Mitchell and then trading Haliburton. I could definitely see trading Mitchell but not Haliburton and I think Davion will be really successful; it’s just that he is very short and pretty old so that doesn’t make much sense to me to have to high first round pick guards on the short side.

  11. Hey on a side note. I’m curious that he wrote down regret’s. I’ve never done that but I think I’m gonna try. Anyone have anything else they might think would be some things to write down?

  12. Monthly reminder to everyone that Sabonis is a 2 time all star and only 4 years older than Tyrese. The kings got the better player and have a better roster now than they did before. Halliburton is very likeable and looks good but you can’t pencil him for a Superstar career from what we’ve seen so far

  13. It is very easy to tell who didn’t watch a single minute of Kings basketball before the Haliburton/Sabonis trade 💀
