  1. The superstar vs just a really really good all star debate about any player is an annoying waste of time. It’s such an arbitrary distinction.

  2. In so far as the distinction between “super star” and really good all-star is largely down to media hype/narratives, I think I’m fine with this

  3. I mean, I think Kyrie kind of lost his winner baggage, because it was so long ago and also people think he rode on LeBron’s bus, plus all this other stuff around him, lol.

But don’t act like winning isn’t important and dudes always get a bunch of individual ranking points by being on the right team.. just don’t think in Kyries case, even with these winning points, he gets into the super-star category.

  4. They’re similar tier players, but Dame’s far more durable, better passer/playmaker and a infinitely better leader.

  5. Yeah, Dame hasn’t played and won a ring with one of the greatest to ever play so legacy points deducted.

  6. This is a terrible take on such an arbitrary classification BUT a superstar is the clear leader of their team. Kyrie can’t even lead a clear train of thought.

  7. Wild takes one made it into nba 75 team they did the homework for this conversation already 🤔

  8. If you put Dame on that team with lebron the results would be the same. So saying kyrie is a champion and Dame isn’t doesn’t make kyrie better it just means he had better circumstances.

  9. Some of y’all forget who Dame is. Replace prime Dame with 2015 or 2022 Curry on the Warriors and his legacy is completely different. Man hasn’t ever played with an all star, since he’s been the leading scorer on his team. Sure he ain’t no Curry, Harden, Lebron, Durant etc level guys that can have MVP caliber seasons lead their teams to top seeds, but he’s never had such good supporting casts either.

  10. Dame is a superstar. If he put up worse numbers in a big market he would be an enormous legend.

Think about how good people think Jeremy Lin was for averaging 25ppg over like 13 games because he was in NY

Dame just didn’t play with LeBron

  11. Lillard did superstar shit until last season. The whole NBA media is moved by recency so much.

  12. “It’s hard to put him in it, in this moment because of…”

Actually it’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

  13. Kyrie is a ship jumping drama queen who shows up to play when he feels like it.

Dame is a loyal, hard working player and has put his lack luster team on his back and carried them to the playoffs multiple times. Gave Portland some of the best highlights in history.

  14. Tatum is setting her up to see if she’ll understand why her logic is flawed.

Kyrie == superstar, rationale being high level play and a ring

Dame != superstar, rationale being high level play and no ring

Tatum == superstar, rationale being high level play and ???

  15. Neither of them are superstars. To me superstar means a supermax is an underpay for the value they bring. The very top tier players. No one thinks Kyrie or Lillard are on the same tier as Bron or Giannis

  16. Neither Kyrie or Lillard are superstars.

But Lillard is closer than Kyrie imo. And please – Damian is, if anything, way more of a winner than Kyrie is. I mean, Kyrie doesn’t play half the time and Lillard is one of the best leaders in the nba.

  17. I think the term superstar gets used too frequently. My list of current superstars: LeBron, Steph, Giannis, KD, Jokic, Embiid, Luka.
