  1. This feels like the teams trying to build fake interest in KD to put pressure on the Celts. I doubt we’re seriously trying to acquire KD.

  2. Give us one of the best players in the league but we dont want to give you anything beyond hope

  3. This is going to be the Kawhi shit all over again where teams lowball every offer, the star finally gets moved, plays REALLY FUCKING GOOD then teams are going to come out and say “We pROBaBlY sHoUlDVe oFfErEd a BIT MoRE”

Saying Desmond bane and JJJ are untouchable is ridiculous

  4. If I was the grizzlies I would sell high on JJJ because with his injuries it seems like he’s in a bit of a KP type situation.

  5. JJJ is one of the most overrated players in the league, I would make him the centerpiece of a KD trade any day of the week

  6. Maybe I’m crazy but some of these players that are off the table for KD just seems wild to me. Pelicans not willing to part ways with BI, Grizzlies not willing to part ways with Bane or JJJ?

I get not wanting to mortgage the entire future of a franchise, but we’re talking about trading for one of the top 3 or 4 players in the league under contract for another four seasons. If I’m the GM of an NBA team (and maybe this is why I’m not the GM of an NBA team), the only players I would consider completely off limits are superstars still in the front end of their prime or young guys with perennial all-NBA potential.

Bane, Ingram, JJJ are all excellent players. But I just don’t understand why you’d ever take them off the table if you’re trying to get a player like KD.

  7. Wild that Charania buries the lede (the Memphis news) seven paragraphs into the story.

Also wild that Charania manages to flatter so many executives — his adjectives are florid — in a single story.

  8. Nothing is going to happen, KD is gonna be a Net next season. Nobody wants to pay a high ticket price, Brooklyn has no leverage and won’t let him walk for cheap. Complete nothing burger

  9. Why do we have multiple posts about offers that have absolutely 0 chance of going through

  10. Question, if Nets want a win-now player, could they not just use the massive draft capital they get from a trade to like… *do another trade*?

  11. Every week a new team offers a moderate trade package to the Nets team seeking an epic trade package.

With the exception of when the Boston Brown rumours, every trade package always seems to offer a little less than the ones we already know about.

  12. It’s a weird situation where one of JJJ/Bane isn’t enough, but both are too much to give up.

  13. I see it from the Grizzlies perspective.

You give up 5 first round picks and 2 really good players for a guy who is gonna check out at the first sign of adversity.

Imagine if Ja gets hurt for an extended amount of time, Kevin is gonna immediately ask for a trade. Or if Kevin gets hurt and the roster gets depleted, then it’s just going to be another trade request.

Everything would have to go perfect for this to be worth it and it won’t be.

  14. Well yea if I’m giving up 5 picks you’re damn sure not getting quality young players on top of that. Imo You can have 3 and jaren sure, but once you start asking for 4 or 5 picks, you lose the ability to demand quality young talent on top of that

  15. The question is always…am I willing to mortgage the next 3-5years worth of trade assets for KD? Does my team have enough talent to compete if I can’t make any more significant moves after that? Does KD want to play for my team?

I’m pretty sure none of these teams outside of the Suns and Heat can answer those questions….which severely limits the buyers in this market…which limits the actual price.
