[Auman] Just so there isn’t false hope: Bucs want to keep the door open for center Ryan Jensen to return this season, but there’s only a slight chance he could do so, and only late in the playoffs at that. No chance at before that.

  1. Jensen could pull a Vita Vea and make a triumphant playoff return, but at the same time if we make the playoffs and Hainsey is doing well it might not make sense to pull him mid-playoffs.

  2. My understanding is keeping that potential open would require giving him an initial 53 roster slot after final cutdowns?

Not sure that’s worth him maybe being available at some point in the playoffs at best.

  3. Yeah not feeling so great about our chances this year. Crazy how 2 injuries 2 preseason games into the year changed all my expectations for the season. I expected SB appearance before, now Divisional round exit or NFC championship exit is what I’m expecting, because there will very likely be more O-line injuries throughout the season. We really should be looking to make some trades for linemen. Trade future draft picks. This is the year where we need to be all in.

  4. Go with the one that got you there. Switching out centers for the NFCCG or Super Bowl sounds like a terrible idea unless the guy who’s been starting there all season gets hurt.

  5. This makes 0 sense. How could you possibly say months from now for certain how Jensen will feel and when….there’s either no chance of a return or a chance and it could be at any point late in the season. Injuries don’t work like that
