[Matt Derrick] Chiefs have reduced their active roster to 80 players by placing RB Derrick Gore (thumb) on injured reserve and moving OT Lucas Niang (knee) to the reserve/PUP list. That means Niang will miss at least the first four weeks of the season.

  1. Someone smarter than me, since Niang can come back is Gore placed on the season ending one? Or can he still come off before the regular season?

*Guys below are right. Pete Sweeny said that move ended his season. In more news MVS didnt practice today, but no word on why not.

  2. Anyone else feel like this is like Ross and we put him there so we don’t risk losing them to the practice squad?

  3. Why IR Gore for a thumb injury rather than release him? At his age this kind of effectively ends his career, rather than releasing him and giving him a shot to catch on somewhere else as a solid backup.

  4. They have to keep 4 RB. CeH, and McKinnon are injury prone and in not sure either has played an entire season.
