Either they deal him for another bubble player from another team, or he will be waived.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see another way.

Would we do Johnson for Slayton, thinking is Johnson like Hunt also has 1 year left isn’t as good as Hunt and given we drafted Ford Johnson isn’t the RB2 of the future either
D’Ernest for Slayton sounds good to me.
We don’t have to give up any RBs. A super late pick at best or wait for him to be cut because he probably will be. They are in cap hell and he’s buried on the depth chart.
I’d like to keep Johnson if at all possible. Hunt and Chubb both have missed time the past couple of years. Need a strong 3rd RB, especially if we’re going to be a run oriented offense.
