  1. It’s Skip Bayless so I don’t take this too seriously honestly. That said though, he was on point about a lot of Kawhi stuff(think uncle Dennis was his source) so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some legitimacy to it and maybe our FO is trying to figure something out in the midst of this mess that has been a off season

That said it makes no sense for us unless we get Jared Vanderbilt also or another solid PF. Even then? D-Mitch and Kyrie as a backcourt? Naw I’m good. Give Ben a shot I suppose and let D-Mitch lead the Knicks to a play-in spot

  2. I think Nets should try it with Simmons, he is the perfect fit for us, but it’s a gamble! But could be some drama that Marks and Tsai don’t want, Mitchell would be good but our defense will be our weakness again less than with Harden will still be there

  3. I just dont know why utah would want simmons, shouldnt they want picks? Prob using the nets as leverage to get more out of knicks?

  4. Hope this is true because I don’t want to root for Ben. Also very suspects about of he can or even wants to perform/play at an NBA champion standard.

  5. That doesn’t even make sense for Utah, if they are trying to tank, Simmons prob wins more regular season games then Mitchell

  6. Skip Bayless doesn’t know anything. If on the off chance some talks did happen though, I’m willing to bet they are old and happened when Brooklyn were still exploring KD trade options.

  7. Ben in theory helps the Nets more but in reality there have been questions about his love for the game and willingness and ability to compete in high pressure situations since he was in college. Might not be a trade the Nets want to do ultimately, but I could see why they would

  8. That would be next level stupid trading a DPOY like Ben for a small guard who can’t defend like Mitchell. We need defense not more shooting.

  9. This is horse shit and I’m not buying it. Why do a KD-Kyrie-Harden redux when we now have our defensive enforcer?

  10. Last week Skip said that Kyrie was the reason KD wanted to leave, that has been disputed and proven false. Don’t listen to these people.

  11. Highly doubt this is true, but if Simmons is fully healthy and fully engaged (I know it’s maybe a big “if” at this point), I take him over Mitchell.

  12. I kinda get why the nets would at least think about this. I’m loving the idea of Ben10 playing to his strengths in Brooklyn, but he is a gamble at this point. The only reason this would make sense is just to have a safer bet. Theoretically, the size, defense, and playmaking that Simmons brings is more valuable to a team with two efficient scorers than a third scorer. However, Spida is proven asset that has been a consistent playoff performer, hasn’t missed a season due to mental health, and didn’t just get back surgery. The trade makes no sense if you compare their theoretical value, but all it takes is Simmons to repeat one of the three things he’s already done in his career to make this trade a hindsight no brainer. This is one of those situations where you wish you had future sight to make the right decision lol.

  13. The only way this makes sense is if Kevin Durant is not a fan of Ben Simmons or has a beef with him.

  14. I doubt this is true but if it is we probably do this.
There is still a chance Ben wont be physically and/or mentally ready to play, with Mitchell we at least know what we’re getting.

  15. Why? Simmons is literally a perfect fit in Brooklyn imo. Doesn’t need shots – pass first – excellent defender and rebounder.

There is no world where Mitchell and Irving co-exist imo. They are the same player. If it didn’t work with him and Harden it’s not going to work with him and Mitchell.

  16. Suns bro here as this popped up in suggested on my home page, but John Gambo over on our station 98.7 mentioned the nets as a team looking to get Mitchell a few days ago. So I can definitely see this being true

  17. At least from Netsdaily, Nets FO seems high on Ben and he fits a HUGE need for this team.

Tired of having undersized guards on this squad.
