[Talbot] Marquette King does not have to use his sky miles yet, but a source tells me that the #Bills reached out to see where he’s at and if he’s in game shape. Something to monitor.

  1. As long as he tones down his attitude and balls out I’m good with it. Fun player and I recall he was really good

  2. Would love it. Dude is a fun player to have on a team and he’s seems more humble after the couple years hiatus from the league. I think we’ve had enough distractions at the punter position to last us a decade but I genuinely believe he’d be a good addition and would fit the teams’ vibe this season.

  3. Yo Bills bros, Bengal bro here. Sorry how things have gone but proud y’all did the right thing. FYI, we’re having a punter battle between 25yo up and comer Drue Chrisman and long time veteran Kevin Huber. They’ve been neck and neck this preseason and I doubt we’ll keep both. Just something to think about ya know?

Good luck to y’all with this and the season tho, see y’all in the AFCCG! Jungle + Mafia 5ever

  4. Cutdown day is Tuesday, We aren’t making a move until then…and I SERIOUSLY doubt King is the move.

  5. Pure fucking chaos let’s fucking go!!!

In honesty though I could see it going well. He’s already retired, extreme circumstances giving him one last shot at glory might just be enough to keep his head down for a year

  6. It’s no surprise that Beane is looking at all of his options at punter, and not overlooking anyone.

  7. McBeane definitely seems to be looking for a punter with a more powerful leg so it makes sense they’d reach out to him. Idk if that’s worth having ANOTHER punter who might be a distraction though

  8. I always loved his personality, the people who think he would need to change if he were to come here need to calm the f down.

I’ve got faith that the guys in our locker room can keep anyone in check. People act differently when they know they’re on a legit title contending team. Thats a big part of how the Patriots were able to get ‘troubled’ players to behave even though every player acknowledge’s being a Patriot wasn’t fun.

  9. I’m a St. Louis Bills fan and we loved King during the short XFL season with the Battlehawks. He was legitimately one of the most popular players on the team. I think he’d be great on the Bills.

  10. Raiders fan here — I have adopted the Bills as my “second favorite” team ever since I started dating my girlfriend, whose family is from Buffalo (I visited for the first time earlier this summer and enjoyed seeing the city, and Niagara Falls) and have enjoyed following this sub.

Suffice it to say that you probably don’t want Marquette on your team. We had a great honeymoon period with him in Raider Nation (I actually bought his jersey) while his swagger and seemingly great vibes didn’t have any downsides. But then he started getting flagged for personal fouls of taunting / excessive celebration (which in my experience watching football is unheard of for a punter).

And then it got really bad when he made light of a serious situation/beef between Crabtree and Aqib Talib. Talib had snatched off Crabtree’s chain and they got into a big fight in two different games (and Talib even snatched the chain a second time after Crabtree had taped it down to his chest in the next game). First of all, it’s a massive divisional rival, likely our biggest rival of all. Second of all, Crabtree’s chain is important to him, and when Marquette posed jokingly with Talib at the Pro Bowl (see link below), he made it clear to everyone that he cared about his own fame more than his teammates.

So pretty quickly after that, it was easy to see Marquette for who he really is, which is a selfish and pretty toxic person. And reports started coming out that the Raiders players wanted him gone from the locker room. And not that long later, he was.

IMO despite his massive talent for punting, he is not worth the drama and selfish energy he will bring to the team.
