Amazing. I grew up watching Chipper but didn’t know much about stats back then. For those curious in his age 40 season he played in 112 games, BA .287, and OPS .832. Pretty damn impressive for a 40 year old IMO.
My son’s first Braves game was Chippers very last regular season game. Time sure flies…
I have been a Braves fan since Chipper’s first season. I’ve never seen them play live and I’m sorry I never got to see him play, but I’m going to the series in Seattle in a couple of weeks and couldn’t be more excited!
Chipper is my favorite player of all time. Part of why he is my favorite is because I happened to meet him where I worked and he was so nice to everyone.
Still got my signed coca cola bright yellow high-school chipper card. Dude was an absolute stud for years.
Kinda wish he could DH, only on Sunday home games. Dust off a red 10.
I got to see him play that last season, made a childhood dream come true.
Good thing Van Popple refused to sign with Atlanta
Such a smart hitter. He made it look effortless.
He gave a clinic, I believe, this year. I think that’s when he won the batting title and his something ridiculous like .365.
I bet he wondered, “If I knew what I knew now back then, I’d be dangerous”.
