Hopefully this means we narrowed our frontcourt targets down and are ready to make a move. Need a legit c off the bench
Had the most shocking summer league I’ve seen. 1 point in 4 games is impressive.

This means they have a roster spot open for a minimum level player. Hopefully Whiteside or Aldridge. Fact they waived a guaranteed contract now suggests they need that spot for something.

If we eat the contract it’s extremely hard for us to get under the tax. We do have a roster spot open now though, and the RoCo TPE of 6.5 mil available to use. That could fit a guy like Jarred Vanderbilt
However, it’s also possible that Jody wanted to duck the tax by waiving and stretching Didi’s contract over 7 seasons at 268k a year. Last day to waive and stretch a contract is the 31st.
What we do after this will show us how cheap Jody really is.
Everyone will think this means they’re signing another big but it’s really just a money saver.
God I hope this means that we are looking at a 3rd emergency big.
I’d be surprised if they didn’t at least try to offload him first. He just isn’t an NBA level player.
