[Wojnarowski] New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett is finalizing a four-year rookie extension that could be worth up to $120 million, his agent Bill Duffy of @BDA_Sports + @WME_Sports told ESPN, complicating the franchise’s offseason trade pursuit of Utah Jazz All-Star Donovan Mitchell.

This could potentially complicate things.

What are your thoughts? I personally never thought the Jazz were really going after RJ.

  1. We were never going after him and it was the most obvious smokescreen in the world when we said we were.

  2. I’d been hearing for months that the jazz weren’t super motivated to move Mitchell this off season and would only do it at a certain price. Seems like that is still the case and the parties still haven’t been able to come to terms. I’m not certain the jazz ever wanted rj, so I’m not surprised a deal never coalesced around him. But Knicks don’t want give up the unprotected picks. So who knows. My guess is we have Mitchell going into next year, which is ok by me.

  3. Wow don might just have to force his way out, I can’t imagine he wants to stay in a roster that doesn’t have the proper roster to win games,
