Obviously hes from here but Murray’s contract is up when Jaylen Brown becomes a FA in 2024, Same with Bogi he is off the books at the same time too (35M together) Capela too (53M) and DeAndre Hunter doesn’t have an extension and his situation is up In the air.
So yeah there’s a future where we throw a baggy bag at JB. It’s not crazy
Trae, Murray, Brown big 3 could win us a championship if we have the right role players.
cmon home my guy
Not gonna put a lot of stock into this but I could see it happening. Brown will almost definitely hit free agency because his current deal won’t allow the Celtics to extend him with a max when his contract expires. Not sure the money would be there for us but it would be a couple years down the road so who knows what happens.
If this happens then expect the script to flip like it did with DJM. Brown is going to go from one of the most beloved up and coming players the league loves to “Eh he’s pretty overrated actually. His Raptar and PeNIS stats aren’t quite what they need to be and honestly the Hawks got worse. What a fleece.”
A Trae/DJ/Brown/OO core would win a ring
Mo Harkless + 2nd Round Pick For Jaylen Brown
???
Why are the Celtics worried about losing him? I don’t see a path where this makes sense for the Celtics.
MAYBE Hunter becomes 80% of Jaylen, MAYBE Clint will help their team against Giannis and Embiid (Horford is really good that that tho) MAYBE JC blossoms into an elite 2-way PF.
There is no path for this trade without Trae or Murray going out the door. Smart would be the only “core” piece the Hawks MIGHT be able to get with a non all-star return.
I expect to have him after next season. Right when he and Trae hit their primes.
I just want Hunter to fulfill his potential.
lol
If there’s a thing I know for certain, it’s that the Hawks interest in a player will always be used for leverage in trades and free agency.
Why would the Celtics, who just made the finals, trade away their second best player to a team in their own conference?
