It’s been over a year and I still haven’t gotten over Buchs. I have been watching the Rangers since 97-98 for 25 years, and this one hurts the most.
Ya same…. Besides how good he is I loved how he and shesterkin were best buds. I also think his mean streak provided great replays lol. The Marchand dump and the Mantha cross check come to mind. I’m with you I miss him.

There was no way they were gonna re-sign Buch, address 2C long term, and extend Fox given the salary cap. As sad as it was to see magnets go, there wasn’t going to be space for him on the team, and it was the right decision even knowing he balled out last year.
If you wanna talk about the return they got for him they absolutely should have been able to do better. But Buch and the Rangers going their separate ways had to happen in a salary capped league.
In general I don’t hate the idea of trading Buch as you can’t keep everyone but I am pissed the return was peanuts.
It was impossible to hold on to everyone. Rangers are already tight on money.
