The GM is basically telling us that he’s expecting the team to suck yet some people here still think we’re going to win 9 games and make a wild card spot.
“If we have a winning season it’ll be because of Daboll and I, but if we don’t or we do badly it’s the other guys fault and we did our best”
The goal should be 5 wins. The stretch goal can be 8 wins. Would that cause a hamstring injury?
And yet the eternal optimists are gonna be disappointed / surprised when we’re not fighting for a playoff spot come December.
The gm is literally telling you to your face this is a flawed, thin team in a rebuilding year. I didn’t say tanking, but rebuilding. DJ, Saquon and others could stay healthy and play well and it still probably isn’t enough.
He’s setting expectations low, I don’t see what the big deal is. You’d rather have your GM be like that than have an overinflated sense of what this team is
I would have at least like to have heard something like “we want all our guys to play hard and with pride” but I guess this is the hand I’ve been dealt.
I gather from this that we’re going to the Super Bowl.

This is a solid answer. The goal is to rebuild and keep adding young talent and figure out if DJ is the longterm QB. My gut says be isn’t, but I still hope he is only because going back to “QB-search mode” with no extra 1st-rd picks is terrifying.

This season is seeing who can play, especially at the QB position. There are a bunch of very highly rated QB prospects in the 2023 draft class. If our guys shit the bed we’ll get a chance at one of the best of the bunch. 2024 is going to be great.
