  1. Can we talk about the old-school punch out this ump does? The pageantry of this ump needs to return to the show.

  2. My favorite delivery/windup was by Jim “Kitty” Kaat. Kaat got the ball back from the catcher, toed the rubber and threw the ball with a very abbreviated windup.

In games he threw at least seven innings, they usually lasted less than two hours.

  3. Fernando Valenzuela. Not so much his delivery but the fact that his eyes would roll to the top.

  4. Pedro Martinez. It wasn’t flashy or anything, but it was so fluid and consistent. With identical arm angles on all pitches, his changeup and curveball were even more deadly.

  5. I saw Nomo pitch in his rookie season. It was amazing. I was such a big fan.

He is still the only pitcher to ever pitch a no-hitter in Coors Field. And one of a small number of pitchers with two no-hitters. Not a Hall of Famer, but a guy who should be remembered for his impact on the game in 1995.

  6. Nomo’s was awesome! Greg Maddux’s was so simple and smooth. Loved his. Also loved Roy Halladay’s.
