  1. It’s crazy to think that this one trade– this *one* deal– is responsible for almost all of our success even to this day in some way, shape, or form. If this deal doesn’t happen, who knows if the Ducks still manage to be successful or if we go the way of Winniphoenizona.

    Selanne elevated Kariya from great to Hall of Famer and they and Rooch were a force of a line. Rob Niedermayer being here helped convince Scott to come play for us, and just like that, a HOF defenseman. And of course, swapping picks to acquire Saint Corey the Blameless is up there as well.

    You can make a case for Paul, but I like to think that it’s because of this trade that we have three numbers hanging from the rafters.
