Brewers inconsistent offense

Brewers have had 80 games where they scored 4+ runs but the other games? Not so much

  1. The frustrating thing is that this is the way the offense has been the past 2+ years and it’s just not a winning formula, especially in the playoffs, and we’ve done nothing to remedy it.

Part of the issue is that our position player development has lagged way behind our pitching (up until recently) and as a product of that we haven’t been able to prioritize players with plate discipline. The result is tons of players swinging for the fences because home runs are what gets you paid.

  2. I’m not going to bash this too much because I know Wisconsin sports heroics is amateur writers, but holy cow is this just not how hitting works.

Taking MORE fastballs is not a recipe for success. The game is different. Just running up pitch counts doesn’t get you more runs. It just means you let hitable pitches go by. Know what pitchers love? Teams that run up pitch counts. Now my early pitches are lower stress and I’m pitching ahead. Good luck
