[Art Stapleton] Giants WR Darius Slayton was not at practice. His absence was excused by the team, per source. For the sake of connecting dots, Blake Martinez was excused from practice last week and was released a day later. Unclear if Slayton’s situation will have a similar outcome.

1. Guessing he’s gone and we signed Marcus Johnson to the practice squad with the intent to promote him to the roster

2. Perhaps the assumed trade is getting finalized.

   Or perhaps Slayton, assuming like the rest of us that he’d be traded by now, is frustrated. There’s really no reason to just cut him at this point. We are under the cap and don’t need to cut him just yet.

   EDIT: Not saying these are the only possible reasons. Maybe Slayton had to go to the DMV. Who knows

4. All signs for this team point to clean up this season and rebuild next. I don’t think we’ll suck enough though.
