Congrats Mets, you just lost to the 2022 Chicago Cubs!
If Assad continues to pitch this well for the rest of the season, does he make the starting rotation next year? Hendricks, Stroman, Steele, and Thompson seem like locks. The fifth spot could be filled by Wesneski or Assad, or they went out and got another pitcher. I feel like it’s more likely that he would become a long reliever or a 6th man in Iowa who could pitch as needed.

Literally an AAA team, and that’s not an exaggeration. all these guys could have or have been in iowa this year and single handedly just beat a top 3 team in baseball
