With Miller locked up for the next 8 years and presumably until the end of his career, where do you think he will land in terms of all time Canucks leaders? He’s 39th all time with 217 points. He’d be top 10 with 409 points. Top 5 with 673.

  1. It would be so so sweet if he could pound in a couple hundred point seasons to start off the contract strong

  2. I mean, if everything goes well hopefully he can break into the top 5 or get really close. I think ~450 pts over the next 8 seasons is a realistic expectation.

  3. Assuming he doesn’t get hit by a meteor or whatever else the hockey gods have cooked up to increase our suffering, I can see him averaging in the neighbourhood of a point per game for 3 years, then down to maybe 50 points for a couple years, then ~30 to close it off. Assuming he plays every game, something like:

    ’22/23 – 82
    ’23/24 – 78
    ’24/25 – 70
    ’25/26 – 65
    ’26/27 – 53
    ’27/28 – 44
    ’28/29 – 35
    ’29/30 – 30

For a total of 457, which then added to his current 217 points puts him at 674 in a Canucks uniform.

So apparently I think he’ll get exactly one point more than Smyl, which I definitely did not think he would be capable when I started writing all this down.

  4. 9 more years under contract, easy 100 points per season, so if he finishes below 1117 points this contract is a total bust.

  5. My first thought when I read the first couple words of this post…. Oh no, Miller’s in jail??? LOL I need some coffee

  6. I’ll play unpopular devil’s advocate because I’m good at that.

Miller’s lock-and-keyed up years 2-8. Just locked up for year 1. Imma pull a “Price is right” $1 bet and say 2023 he gets 65 points in 63 games and traded in a fire sale. That puts him 26OA with 282.

I fucking hope I’m wrong since that means we made a big step backwards. But the $1 bet is statwise the best bet.
