Current Suns employee: “I cannot express to you how mad and disappointed people are at the spineless nature of the NBA’s decision.”

Another former Suns employee had this to say:

> “It’s barely a slap on the wrist and shows us the league truly doesn’t stand for diversity, equity or inclusion. I’m grateful to have the validation after being told I was insane, a bitch, and being dramatic. That definitely lets me breathe a little. But I’m angry. The league failed us when they had the opportunity to stand behind its values.”

  1. Chris Smoove was talking about how the fine could just be a tax write off for Sarver

He made some pretty good points

  2. lmao the NBA is about money, they stood to gain a lot by ousting Sterling, not so much by doing the same to Sarver.

It’s funny people still think the NBA cares.

  3. Always friendly reminder NBA is not progressive and the owners don’t give a shit. They support what they think will help their bottom line.

  4. if they went with forcing the sale. this man who clearly anti black anti woman and probably anti cancel culture gets 6 billion dollars to influence in elections. that not a good thing.

they dont have hard proof he can always sue for control too and probably win.

sterling was not forced to sell. his wife wanted that 2 billion more than anything else. so they got a doctor to label incompetent and she took control. i dont think sarver wife will betray him.

say they do make them sell it. this worker is probably fired within 5 years with a new replace work force.

  5. Honestly this feels like a slap on the wrist to cover the PR issue and that’s the *right* decision. Sarver made some dumb comments but that’s no reason to strip someone’s business from them. You’d need stronger reasons than this to me.

  6. That’s not enough to kick out an owner from his team. I think the punishment is just. Silver works for the owners and I bet they don’t want to be judged with a fine-tooth comb like Sarver was.

  7. I mean. Sadly. Most of these billionaire are gonna just get slaps on the wrist for the countlesss dumb things they do. This is the world.

  8. People really are shocked that the NBA isn’t forcing him to sell the team. Cancel culture doesn’t work with billionaires

  9. It’s going to take prominent NBA (I mean DT or Skylar Diggins can say something on the Mercury but they def don’t have as much pull) players and other owners to speak out for any substantive change.

Sucks that regular employees and players are being subjected to this, putting themselves on the line to speak up and saw almost 0 consequences for this weirdo.

But this goes back to what Mark Cuban said after Sterling “this is a slippery slope” aka owners are not about to do shit bc they know they’re next

  10. i mean at that point either you swallow your pride and keep working there or leave because the crime did not fit the punishment by their standards.

  11. All these people arguing a 1 year suspension and $10M is not a tough enough punishment for Sarver.

Then with that logic, Anthony Edwards should also be getting a significant suspension for being homophobic.

Can’t be having double standards. Got to punish the players too for being insensitive.

  12. If you think that the NBA has ever cared about any values except dollar ones I have a bridge to sell you.

  13. This literally says nothing. If they’re truly an employee of the nba, they know what the maximum punishments for an owner are fines wise. So what did they expect and why? Unless that’s said, it’s literally again saying nothing.

  14. From reading the summary of the report,

Sarver is weird dude. I would classify him as racially insensitive, not racist. He would use the n-word only to quote people which is a weird thing to do.

Also dude loves touching other guys

  15. meanwile jeremy lin was treated with racism every day and nobody in the nba gives a fuck, diversity in america literally means just black people

  16. What did people expect? You need 23 or more owners to agree he should sell.

    You think billionaire owners wanna

    a. be known as a meddler in another billionaires’ business?

    b. Set further precedent for billionaires like themselves to be forced to sell their money making teams one day?

Y’all are crazy if you thought cancel culture would work on billionaires. Hell, look at Dan Snyder. Dude can do whatever he wants

  17. Then boycott you pussies. Players, Coaches, Front office, vendors, arena workers, everyone there should boycott in protest.

  18. He got fined 10 million fucking dollars lol. You want to force him out because he said some bad words and made some women uncomfortable? I dont get it..

  19. NBA is a business and business is about making money. All the other stuff is just virtue signalling.
