I think TL would be much better under Kyle than having Meyer last year. That was one of the worst coaching jobs ever.
I don’t even have a problem with giving Trevor Lawrence a pass, Urban Meyer is a terrible coach and the only people who apparently didn’t know that before last season were Shahid Khan and Trent Baalke.
But damn Trey deserves some context too around a loss that wasn’t actually his fault (penalties grr).
Yeah, I just don’t understand it. Gotta get them clicks I guess.
They said Mac Jones was the most NFL ready QB. He actually proved it last yr.
Trevor didn’t look that bad against the commanders. His teammates kept dropping dimes
Anyway, a good game against the Seahawks (and the broncos on national tv) will shut a lot of people up.
Seahawks looked very vulnerable on the ground in week 1. And the broncos didn’t look that great against geno
Trevor had a lot of high level playing time too. Trey not so much. But I like them both.
To be fair, Kyle didn’t stay behind after the Bears game only to be caught taking a snap from a college girl at a bar. Also, the Jags front office didn’t opt to re-sign their former starting QB. Their situations are very different.
Thank you! Glad someone else is saying it too.
I don’t care how he compares to other QBs in his draft class that may or may not be any good, I care how he compares to the top 5 QBs in the league and if we see progress towards that performance level.
I don’t think the comparison is apple to apples. The 49ers are a win ready team now, who were in the championship game last year. I am not saying Trey deserves what he is getting at all, but this cant be too surprising to folks. We traded 3 first round picks for him, we are one of the most popular franchises in sports, and we have the former starter who was once the highest paid qb of all time as a backup. Add that all up and you have a media frenzy. Again, I dont think he deserves the hate, but comparing the two isnt the same.
One has a Super Bowl roster the other is just hopping not to have the 1st pick in the draft for the 3rd year in a row.
Media will always find something, that’s literally their job.
I get that trevor has a bad team and all that, but the issue is nobody is looking at the rest of the teams play when it comes to judging lance. Like shit we got 10+ penalties last game? Yet it all fell on lance? Not many qbs are gonna make it out of that with a W. Russ certainly didn’t.
I blame everyone giving these stories clicks. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Stop engaging if you don’t like it.
What about Zach Wilson, the next coming of Mahomes according to Simms and Romo lol
A random Wednesday thread preaching patience about Lance being 22 years old is the top post on the front page of r/nfl right now and has 1500 comments.
Don’t let people tell you that the attention he is getting is the attention that all young unproven QBs get, it very clearly isn’t.
You’re burying the lead. No one cares about the Jags so him sucking is fine. Expected even
