I’ve tried to ignore his off-court statements when they’re foolish, and I’ve tried to defend when he’s said something nonsensical but innocuous that people tear apart…I forgave his anti-intellectual pro-flat-earth statement because he apologized and shut up about it…I tolerated his anti-vax stance because he didn’t promote it but mostly kept to himself and didn’t try to say others shouldn’t get the vaccine.
But supporting Alex “Sandy Hook denier” Jones? Overtly suggesting that Covid-19 is a man-made plague? That’s some vile immoral shit.
I, of course, will keep rooting for the Brooklyn Nets…they’re my team. And if Kyrie does something cool on the court, which he is wont to do, I’ll probably go “That’s neat!”
But outside of the work he does for the team as an employee on the court, honestly…fuck this guy. No amount of charity and good hugs makes up for supporting Alex Jones and this position. Fucking hell, this guy makes it hard to tolerate him on the team…
