The fact that the run game was elite this game, and it got us nowhere, really tells you how important having a functional passing game is. We’ll learn more about who’s “to blame” as the season goes on, but if we don’t have a credible passing threat we don’t have an offense.
Imagine what he and the line could do with a real QB. They don’t respect Fields arm and load the box.
I’m gonna trust this coaching staff until they give me a serious reason not to.
Last night, I saw a coach that didn’t want to put Field’s in a position to lose them a prime time game. I think we’ll grow from here. This is the best we’ve established the run game in YEARS. The next step is to mix in the passing and trusting Fields more and more. It’s a new coaching staff and a relatively, fresh roster, so I understand the safe approach. If we’re doing this in week 10, yeah it’d be a problem, but it’s still week 2. Let’s see where we go. Having this good of a run game will only be a good thing.

People in this thread shocked we can run the ball when they said from day 1 this would be a running offense and a lot of the wrs we brought in excel at run blocking
Everyone declaring Herbert RB1 after last week real quiet today. Monty is far and away the best back on this team
Honestly felt bad for him. Didn’t even give my man the TD’s when he worked his ass off to get the team to the red zone in the first place.

Shotgun is ran a lot on a QB sneak and the ball broke the plane, but David deserved that ball. He was turning it on and showing you how dangerous he is.
(Sarcasm) So your saying…..on 4th & inches…..Monty should have been given the ball b/c he was gashing the run D of GB?
Needs more Carries he legitimately looks like one of the best rbs in the leagie
The Herbert stans have moved onto to “Fields is a bust”
32 is our best offensive player by a long, long, long shot.
I swear it’s a totally different game if they just continued feeding him the ball on the second drive and if they left Teven Jenkins in at RG. That RG rotation is a bad idea!
I get why we all want more passes than yesterday, but I think it’s clear the offense was at its best when Monty was being handed the ball. Wouldn’t have minded more first down carries with the way he was moving it.
